Getting tickets for the HD-broadcast (almost a month later than everywhere else, but that's typical of living Down Under) of the Metropolitan Opera production of Lucia di Lammermoor, which makes for a much better opera in Italian, than a book in (almost) English.

The things that made me happiest (paper accepted by endocrinology journal, project protocol approved by hospital ethics committee, finding a better download site for music, not screwing up majorly in inaugaural experiments) happpened last week. So, music: Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen

At least it made me feel better, after learning that one can be sued for rescuing a friend (or a stranger, or anyone, possibly including people like the attempted-suicide in The Incredibles) from a dangerous situation. For several years, health care workers in the States have been taking out insurance against such situations happening if they are off duty.

10)Falling Slowly (Oscar-winning song from Once), performed perfectly by the original writers/singers/actors Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, whose relationship developed during the filming, and whose chemistry was palpable during the recent awards ceremony. was sufficiently inspired to attempt to make first music video with this song, but thankfully fit of madness passed. also, Windows Movie Maker kept crashing.
9)Films: specifically The Diving Bell And The Butterfly (Le Scaphandre et Le Papillon), the beautifully realized cinematic interpretation of Jean-Dominique Bauby's book written after he suffered a stroke that left his cerebral function intact within a body which was essentially immobile except for his left eye.
8)Fanworks/Fandom: The Great Revival, aka Woxinchangdan.
7)Fiction, browsing/buying/reading of: which I can finally do without guilt during spare time since exit exams are over :D
6)Filthy lucre - ahh, year-end bonuses ^_^ But just getting paid for doing work that however repetitive and thankless it may sometimes be is mostly rewarding.

couldn't find many of the editions that I have (too ancient or too local), so these are mostly just the titles and not the actual books. Now if only I hadn't disposed of twice that number while renovating house >_<
